Microsoft Healthcare Event 2018
September 20, 2018 @ 9:15 amFree
As more and more NHS organisations take advantage of digital technologies to provide better healthcare pathways to citizens, the number of security risks and breaches have increased apace with more than 70 incidents disclosed within the last 3 months. Whether that be the global WannaCry ransomware attacks, a trainee losing a USB stick of patient data or plain old human error, the NHS faces a number of critical vulnerabilities that it needs to respond to in order to protect patients and staff and keep their data safe.
With Microsoft recently announcing an country-wide deal to provide Windows 10 to the NHS, Microsoft and Elysian are partnering together to help NHS organisations understand how they can secure their share of this licensing and roll out a modern, secure desktop to combat these threats.
Why Windows 10? The benefits of Windows 10 are many but let me give you a couple of examples. Did you know that the WannaCry attack that so successfully hit Windows 7 could have been proactively prevented by Windows 10 Defender ATP, backed up by Exploit Guard’s Controlled Folder Access feature? Or that BitLocker encryption can be enforced on a USB stick rendering it useless if lost? Instead of having to rely on multiple 3rd parties for protection, security is now hard baked into Windows 10 from the get-go.
Ultimately, it’s a question of risk. Can you eliminate risk? No, not fully. But you can get 99% of the way there. Microsoft are partnering with Elysian to deliver a workshop to help you understand how the Windows 10 security toolset can do all the above and more to help you get there. You’ll see Windows 10 in action and learn how to begin adopting and deploying a modern desktop within your environment.
